Water for Effective Cleansing

You may know that over 60 percent of your body is made of water (over 80% for children)! Drinking enough water maintains the body’s fluid balance, which helps transport nutrients in the body, regulate body temperature, digests food, and remove unwanted toxins from the body.

Our cells need water to function properly.

Fluid losses occur continuously, from skin evaporation, breathing, urine, and stool. These losses must be replaced daily for good health. When your water intake does not equal your output, you can become dehydrated. Fluid losses are increased in warmer climates, during strenuous exercise, in high altitudes, in older adults, whose sense of thirst may not be as sharp and during a cleansing.

Because your body loses water in many ways and because water is necessary for proper body function, it is important to rehydrate by drinking plenty of water (other fluids do not do the job of water for hydration) and eating foods that contain water. The amount of water you need depends on a variety of factors including the climate you live in, how physically active you are, and whether or not you are experiencing specific health concerns.


Dehydration can seriously affect your health

The human brain is made up of 95% water.  Your blood is 82% water and your lungs are 90% water.  An estimated seventy-five percent of Americans have mild, chronic dehydration.
